Just had an encounter with an article named ‘rise of PR, fall of advertising!’ …the funniest part is, I was the one who was actually trying to audit the fall of advertising. Which is definitely not correct! A simple search in Google uncle will prove this point. Advertising is one such business which is in the highest point of escalation now. It’s strange to believe that foreign companies are hiring Indian Ad agencies for their ad campaigns. WE Indians are smart...lol (at least in few things). See, how smart Indain Mr. Kalmadi is…: P
‘Stick no bills’…many a times I happened to spot these words on some walls. When I was in my early schooling days, I use to think it might be the name of some political party (since in Assam politics is very strong)…lol. I asked my father. Which party is this?He laughed! L He explained me the meaning of it. According to him they write ‘stick no bills!’ inorder to prevent the place from any advertisement. But as usual I am a question jigyas (question bank!) After his explanation another question popped up.. i.e. “why?’ ….why they want to prevent the place from any advertisement? He looked blank for few seconds but I fixed my eyes on him to know the answer.
His reply ‘they write ‘Stick no bills’ because people dirty the walls by jotting advertisements’…I wanted to reply him ‘papa, what a meaningless answer. Writing ‘STICK NO BILLS’ with the big font size makes the wall dirty too.’ But preferred to keep quite! As usual after getting the answer, back to play!
But now I understand…..what a pain it is for the advertisers to spot the words ‘Stick no bills’ on the main targeted sights!
