A question always pops up in the mind….how many leaders (politicians)of India actually know
what “democracy” connotes and denotes? Every political science book have one compulsory chapter i.e. DEMOCRACY. Well how many politicians actually have studied political science to know Aristotle’s definition of democracy? Never mind if the answer is in the ratio of 2:8 (2=know and 8=don’t know).

“India is the largest democracy of the world”……..merely remained a statement (I think). Democracy…… by the people, of the people, for people……..but where are the people gone now? Government is made and broken with ease. In the so called Parliamentary form of government the President is known as the bird in the golden cage, so are the people in democracy. Citizens don’t have a role to play in the working of the government (except going and pressing a button in the voting machine).
Politics have become a good career option for the people above 40 years (sometimes below 40). The recent trend in politics is “government failure in the states”. Whether it is Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh…….the trend is growing supper fast and credit goes to our trend setters who are our great leaders…..LEADERS….BLOODY TITLE….LEADER (lol). Behind all these dramas the most advantageous group is the media group…they are getting lots of news everyday…what can be better than this?
We can only say that “Sorry Aristotle….your definition of Democracy no more works in India. We better change your definition as…..by the politicians, of the politicians, for the politicians.”
PS- There is the change of monopoly/dictatorship in India in near future. Don't Jeopardize Democracy!
